Kiff is hand-crafted in Slovenia from sustainable Slovenian wood. Slovenia is a country of forests. Forests cover the three-fifths of the surface and almost every Slovenian city is only a few steps away from the woods. Slovenians feel strongly connected with the forest. This is shown by the fact that one in four Slovenians is a forest-owner. Without forests, Slovenians can hardly imagine their past, present and future.
Although Slovenia’s total surface area is only around 20,000 km2, it has almost 10,000 km2 of forest, which makes Slovenia the third most forested country in Europe, after Finland and Sweden. Slovenian forests protect the soil against erosion and prevent the formation of avalanches, they detain rainwater and prevent its rapid evaporation. It also has an affect on the temperature and humidity. Slovenia has a number of forests that are legally protected and interference with them is offence as they were pronounced to be nature reservates.
